Two Days in Rome: Exploring, Shopping, and More!
We had just two days to explore Rome, so we wanted to make them count! With a plan in hand and excitement in our hearts, we set out to see as much as we could of this amazing city.
For travelers flying into Rome, getting to and from Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is a breeze thanks to the convenient train service. The Leonardo Express train whisks passengers from the airport directly to Roma Termini, the city's central train station, in just 32 minutes. From there, it's a leisurely 25-minute walk or a short taxi ride to the Spanish Steps area, where you'll find yourself conveniently close to the main attractions of Rome. This hassle-free journey ensures that you can start your Roman adventure as soon as you land, without any stress or delays.
Booking our Colosseum tickets online in advance was a game-changer, saving us precious time that we could spend exploring. And by visiting Vatican City just before closing time, we beat the crowds and enjoyed a more peaceful experience.
Our boutique hotel, Excellence suite, near the Spanish Steps was the perfect home base for our Roman adventure. Just a short walk from the Trevi Fountain, it offered easy access to all the city's main attractions, as well as charming cafes and shops.
On our second day in Rome, we decided to take it easy and spend some time soaking up the atmosphere around the famous Spanish Steps. We strolled along the elegant staircase, taking in the stunning views of the city below and snapping photos of the beautiful Barcaccia Fountain.
For a dose of retail therapy, we explored the boutiques and designer stores that line the streets near the Spanish Steps. From high-end fashion to unique souvenirs, there was something for everyone, and we happily indulged in some guilt-free shopping.
